A collection of blood in the soft tissues, outside of the blood vessels, generally the result of bleeding from trauma. Similar (or identical) to a large bruise.Symptoms
Mass in the soft tissue that feels like fluid, pain, swelling, bruising.Tests & Diagnostics
A history and physical exam will be performed.Common tests: Complete blood count (CBC).

Treatment includes: warm compresses, elevation, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications/NSAIDs (ibuprofen/Motrin or Advil, naproxen/Naprosyn), pain medications such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) and needle aspiration if resolution doesn't occur.Medical specialties
