Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the cells of the breast in women and men. This is the second most common type of cancer in women. There are many different types of breast cancer with ductal carcinoma being the most frequent. Early detection and treatment improves the chance for cure.Symptoms
Lump in the breast, ,skin puckering, bloody discharge from breast, lump in one armpit.Tests & Diagnostics
A history and physical exam will be performed, along with a mammogram. CT scan, MRI and/or positron emission tomography (PET) scan may be done to determine extent of the disease. A biopsy of the tumor and surrounding lymph nodes will be performed.Common tests: CT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound.
Conventional treatment summary
