About Avulsions (bone fracture)

A fracture that occurs when a ligament or tendon attached to a bone pulls away a piece (fragment) of the bone. It can also be associated with serious injury to the ligament or tendon involved.

Symptoms

Pain, swelling, decreased motion.

Tests & Diagnostics

A history and physical exam will be performed. X-rays and other radiologic imaging will be taken when appropriate.

Common tests: CT Scan, MRI, X-ray.
