The ingestion of mushrooms containing psilocybine. Psilocybine causes hallucinations about 30 minutes after an oral ingestion. The intensity and duration of symptoms from psilocybine mushroom ingestion are highly variable, depending on species, dosage, individual physiology, and setting.

Symptoms

Hallucinations, incoordination, agitation, nausea, large pupils, and a rapid heart rate.

Tests & Diagnostics

A history and physical exam will be performed. Tests may be done to rule out any other causes of the strange behavior.

Common tests: BHCG, Complete blood count (CBC), Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), CT Scan.
