The act of administering a vaccine. Vaccines have greatly reduced the incidence of infectious diseases. They are especially important for children, older adults and people visiting other countries. Adverse effects of vaccines include: fever, chills, sore injection site, and redness of injection site.

A history and physical exam will be performed if needed.

Conventional treatment summary

Symptomatic treatment for mild reactions with acetaminophen (Tylenol) and/or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications/NSAIDs (ibuprofen/Motrin or Advil, naproxen/Naprosyn or Aleve).
