About Achilles tendonitis (tendon inflammation)

Inflammation (swelling) of the Achilles tendon that extends from the lower calf to the heel. Pain is located in the back of the ankle and worsens with walking.

Symptoms

Pain in the back of the ankle, decreased ankle movement, swelling of back of ankle.

Tests & Diagnostics

A history and physical exam will be performed.

Common tests: X-ray.
