About Hematocele (scrotal bleeding)

A blood clot caused by bleeding into the scrotum near the testicle. It is usually caused by bleeding into a hydrocele or from trauma to the testicle.

Symptoms

Pain in scrotum, swelling, bruising in scrotum.

Tests & Diagnostics

A history and physical exam will be performed. An ultrasound may be recommended.

Common tests: Complete blood count (CBC), Urinalysis (UA), Ultrasound.

Conventional treatment summary

Treatment includes: scrotal elevation, warm compresses, and possibly evacuation of the bleeding.
