About Ureaplasma urealyticum infection

A bacterial cause of non-gonococcal urethritis in men. It is unclear whether it causes acute illness in women. It has been associated with problems in pregnancy including spontaneous abortions. People with depressed immune systems are considered to be at increased risk for more serious infections.

Symptoms

Urethral discharge and sometimes painful urination in men. No symptoms are experienced in women.
