Acetaminophen is primarily metabolized by the liver. Too much acetaminophen (Tylenol) can overwhelm the liver, thereby producing toxic substances that can destroy the liver, resulting in death.Symptoms
Nausea, vomiting, yellow eyes and skin, confusion, weakness, death.Tests & Diagnostics
A history and physical exam will be performed. An acetaminophen (Tylenol) level is measured as well as liver function tests.Common tests: BHCG, Complete blood count (CBC), Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), CT Scan, Troponin, X-ray.
Conventional treatment summary
