Parasites live in or on another animal or insect. The infected organism is called the host and is injured by the parasite. This medical condition is more common in rural areas of the world.

Symptoms

Symptoms vary depending on the parasite involved but may include: fever, fatigue, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, diarrhea, muscle pain.

Tests & Diagnostics

A history and physical exam will be performed. Direct identification of the parasite in stool or tissue will be done.
