A common type of birthmark seen in a newborn. It is most often temporary, and is present in one third of newborns. It occurs from the dilation of blood vessels and can become more apparent when the child cries. The medical name is nevus simplex, also may be called a stork bite.Symptoms
A pink and flat patch of skin that may be present at birth or appear after the first month of life. The birthmark may be found on the forehead, eyelids, nose, upper lip, or back of the neck.Tests & Diagnostics
