About Fibromyalgia

Characterized by chronic, widespread pain and tenderness in multiple areas of the body. It can be associated with impaired sleep, fatigue and poor concentration. The disorder is common among women between the ages of 20 and 50.

Symptoms

Pain, achy joints, muscle pain and cramping, weakness, fatigue, non-restorative sleep.

Tests & Diagnostics

A history and physical exam will be performed. Imaging studies and blood tests may be recommended to identify another cause of pain. Test results tend to be normal in people with fibromyalgia.

Common tests: BHCG, Complete blood count (CBC), Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), Lipase, MRI, Urinalysis (UA).

Conventional treatment summary
