Acute icterohepatitis, febrile diseases, vexation, melancholia, restlessness, stagnation of damp-heat in liver and gall, fever, jaundice, short voidings of reddish urine, blood ejection, spontaneous external bleeding, dysentery with hematochezia and hematuria.

1. the active components such as crocin, crocetin, genipin, or alcoholic extract protect the liver from carbon tetrachloride and increasing biliary secretion. oral use of its decoction induce gallbladder contraction.2. oral or intraperitoneal use of its d
